Product Description Enter the world of Twilight with Breaking Dawn; the fourth and final book of the Twilight Saga. To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen; and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black; she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation; loss; and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive universe of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs. Genre: adult fiction. Published 2008: Little; Brown; and Company. Page count: 754. Dimensions: 8.25"H x 5.5"W.
Amazon.com Review Great love stories thrive on sacrifice. Throughout The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse), Stephenie Meyer has emulated great love stories--Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights--with the fated, yet perpetually doomed love of Bella (the human girl) and Edward (the vampire who feeds on animals instead of humans). In Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment in the series, Bella’s story plays out in some unexpected ways. The ongoing conflicts that made this series so compelling--a human girl in love with a vampire, a werewolf in love with a human girl, the generations-long feud between werewolves and vampires--resolve pretty quickly, apparently so that Meyer could focus on Bella’s latest opportunity for self-sacrifice: giving her life for someone she loves even more than Edward. How close she comes to actually making that sacrifice is questionable, which is a big shift from the earlier books. Even though you knew Bella would make it through somehow, the threats to her life, and to her relationship with Edward, had previously always felt real. It’s as if Meyer was afraid of hurting her characters too much, which is unfortunate, because the pain Bella suffered at losing Edward in New Moon, and the pain Jacob suffered at losing Bella again and again, are the fire and the heart that drive the whole series. Diehard fans will stick with Bella, Edward, and Jacob for as many twists and turns as possible, but after most of the characters get what they want with little sacrifice, some readers may have a harder time caring what happens next. (Ages 12 and up) --Heidi Broadhead

Breaking Dawn July 27, 2010 Diane L. Werning (Cincinnati,Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was hard to put down when I started it.Like the other books in this series,it takes you into a world of fantasy that you would rather stay in than come down to reality.I did find it odd that she had Bella get pregnant.Bella had enough talents to bring out after she became a vampire that would have kept the story going.I really am sorry this was the last book,I will really miss reading more stories about Bella and Edward.
Best of the 4! July 26, 2010 Roswellroad 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The last book was so entertaining! I was over Bella and Edward's love story (yes, we all know they can't live without each other! ie.Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre).
I laughed through the pages at Jacob's thoughts and his bickering with Rosalie and swelled up at Seth's innocence. For all those who wants a love story read the first three, the last is for those who wants to move on with the story.

A Mom's Take on The Twilight Saga... July 23, 2010 vintagenests 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I started reading the Twilight Series when my twelve-year-old daughter expressed an interest in reading the books. I did have a hard time with the idealistic-unrealistic romantic aspect of the book - but guess what - just like Barney and the Teletubbies, that just means I'm an adult. The book wasn't written for me. It is a work of fiction for young adults, period. I will say that I still felt the need, as her mother, to give my daughter a lecture on how love doesn't mean totally enmeshing your life with another person and letting them sneak into your room at night, etc. She looked at me like I had two heads, and said - "uh, Mom - it's a book." Once we got that settled, I was mainly skimming to be sure the sexual content was age-appropriate for her and I thought the author did a very good job.
As an adult reader, the author made me wince and laugh and yes, roll my eyes. I was actually embarrassed for both the writer and myself at various points of the book. However, by the end of the first book she had brought about that dizzy, foggy, sick-to-your-stomach feeling of intense attraction/first love/overwhelming desire. Can a writer hope for more?
Also, the screenwriter did a first for me - made me like a movie better than the book. I really hope that Breaking Dawn has an edited version and an unedited version. Don't make me watch Bella and Edward's honeymoon climax with a fade-out to the ocean.
