5 out of 5 stars Prior readers of Garth Nix will find this an ongoing, powerful attraction   June 19, 2010
Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)
Garth Nix's The Keys to the Kingdom: Lord Sunday tells of a house falling apart: a house tied to all reality. Arthur and his friends are caught in the chaos of its demise, struggling to survive and defeat enemies attacking them - most especially Lord Sunday, whose magic may be stronger than Arthur's talents. Prior readers of Garth Nix will find this an ongoing, powerful attraction.

5 out of 5 stars A great end to a great series   June 17, 2010
Nutnoze (New York, USA)
Absolutely loved this book. The entire series is fantastic and this is the perfect way to end such a long running fantasy universe, it was epic, it tied together all lose ends, and creates a truly gripping climax. I would recomend this book (start from the beginning, Mister Monday, of course) to anyone. Really, it's suitable for all ages, and that's hard to say with complete honesty for most books! My only negative comment is that for a few days I had no life because I could not put this down! (But that's not all bad, right?)

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing ending to sequel   June 15, 2010

The books started out strong and interesting. Each new one I couldn't wait for. But Saturday and then Lord Sunday were disappointments. I kept hoping Lord Sunday would pick up in interest but never did. Too bad.

5 out of 5 stars phenomenal book!   June 2, 2010
I have been waiting for this book to come out for a year. Ive gone over what it would be like for the series to end tons of times in my head. Nothing could have prepared me for the amazing book I was about to encounter.
The scene was set as arther fell through a hole in the incomparable gardens. Nix had an amazing way to remined me of the past six books. Very soon I was reminded of the improbable stair, nithlings and newniths, pipers children, and of course arthers task.
I would suggest this series especially Lord Sunday to everyone who has a passion for fantasy. Thanks for reading my review!

Lord Sunday is a complete letdown. I don't know that I have ever read a more anti-climatic final book of a series the length of Keys to the Kingdom. There were so many plot threads, conflicts, and relationships that just ended abruptly or were never resolved, unless you count destroying the universe as resolution. This one is almost as bad as The Amber Spyglass. At least Nix doesn't preach at you like Pullman did. I was really pulling for this series, and thought it fitting that Nix dedicated the book to one of my favorite authors, Roger Zelazny, but the novel falls flat. I imagine there will probably be a second series, like Zelazny's Amber novels, because Nix leaves so many plot lines hanging.
