5 out of 5 stars New to Quilting   April 1, 2010
Jodi
I'm really excited about doing some of the fun bright quilts like "Dots are Hot" and "Spring Loaded". The book seems to have a nice mixture of modern and traditional patterns. I'm new to quilting and this book seems to have nice clear directions and photographs to help me. Let's hope the projects are easy like the title promises. Wish me luck!

5 out of 5 stars not quite a quilter   April 1, 2010

While I love the idea of making a quilt, in all honestly, I probably never will. That's why I'm loving Easy Quilt Projects--because a quilted Mod Music ipod holder or Holds It All tote bag is just as fun and much less intimidating than a full-sized quilt. I work for the publisher so was fortunate enough to be able to snag a copy as soon as it came out and get started on these super easy, creative projects.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing number of projects for the price!   April 1, 2010

I have been waiting to get my hands on this book since I first heard about it and I was not disappointed. It features a great number of quilt projects (quilts, plus accessories, etc) that are very manageable and easily explained. And how can you beat the price of a book that has 41 patterns for less than $23? I am a regular reader of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine- the editors of this book- and I am always inspired by the amazing projects featured. I was also amazed to learn that this book includes a FREE 1 year subscription to the magazine! I already subscribe but this would make the book essentially free if you don't already have a subscription. This book is more accessible for the beginner/intermediate sewing/quilter. I also found the 'tips' throughout to be incredibly helpful. I know I will be making gifts from this book for years to come.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing purchase   March 29, 2010

I REALLY wanted this book to arrive - AND THEN - it did. As the title says, it's "quilt projects" not necessarily quilt patterns and its just great for those who want little cellphone holders or small purses. I've purchased and own several BH&G books and this IS NOT among those I would recommend.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price.   March 26, 2010

A fair number of the projects in this book are available free on the magazine's website but there are several that are not. Still, the price of the book is considerably less than the regular price of the year's magazine subscription that comes free with the mail-in coupon in the back of the book. It's nice to have all those projects at your fingertips in one location so you don't have to go thumbing through dozens of magazines and website links to find one. The color pictures and directions in the book are pleasing and seem very easy. I haven't had it long enough to make any of the projects yet, but the instructions seem clear and concise. Since you get the free magazine subscription, too, it's a very good deal. If you don't want the magazine subscription, you can send in the card and get a small refund (about $6.00) mailed to you instead. That, in effect, makes the cost of the book about $10.
