5 out of 5 stars Very Good Disney Overview   July 27, 2010
I. Zawilski
My husband and I are big Disney fans, and regularly buy other Disney guidebooks. This was the first we had heard of this particular book, and frankly, we were a bit skeptical. We bought it anyway, and are glad we did. It actually had information we had not seen elsewhere. There were a few of out-of-date sections, but not too many. You find that in any guidebook, especially one dealing in a place that changes as often as Disney World. Overall, it is an appealing book with a pretty good layout.

4 out of 5 stars Very informative   June 7, 2010

I have found the information in this book very useful. It has helped me make decisions about certain hotels, meals, experiences, etc. I will definitely be brining it with us on our trip this coming September!

5 out of 5 stars This Guidebook is SOOOOO Perfect For Your Disney Trip!   June 1, 2010
Claudine Wolk (www.help4newmoms.com)
I'm not going to tell you that you're not going to have a good time without this book, but I am going to tell that with this book, your Disney vacation is going to be a heck of a lot easier and a heck of a lot more fun.
The truth is, Disney is awesome, but it can also bit a bit complicated. There is a method to the madness. There is a way to do Disney so that you are not standing in line all day for rides or food. There is a way to do Disney with the little ones so you can maximize your time and get out while the getting is good.

The Complete Walt Disney World Guide, by Julie and Mike Neal shows you how. The illustrated book is organized by park, which is the best way to organize a book about Disney World, if you ask me, which you didn't, but still. I've seen other books organized by rides, then restaurants, then by lodging - way too confusing and flipping back and forth is a drag. This book lists all the tricks to planning your day, by theme park, BEFORE you get there. The authors explain all about dining plans, restaurant rules, and Fastpass. The book has detailed information about every ride, attraction, and parade, including wait times and scary levels. It also has has interesting, fun facts about each attraction, ride, hotel, and parade as well as information on character appearances - It is a "dive right in" kind of book.

Best of all, the book is compact enough to carry in your backpack and easy enough to maneuver to find information quickly. If you're looking for a Disney guidebook, this is the one to get. The book also reveals the location of "hidden Mickeys." We had a blast trying to find them on rides and attractions.

5 out of 5 stars Great Planning Tool   June 1, 2010
Tiffany (San Diego, CA)
I just recently got back from a week long vacation at Disney World and this book was a great tool to planning out our vacation. First off, let me say that I planned a trip for my husband and myself for our 2 year anniversary. We live in Southern California and have Disneyland Annual Passes and thought it would be fun to check out Disney World. I know that a full day at Disneyland or California Adventures can already be very tiring and that we can't do all the attractions in one day and that's with knowing Disneyland and California Adventures pretty well with our annual passes. So, with this in mind I decided I wanted a book to help me plan a tentative schedule and figure out what rides/attractions we must see and then filter from there.

I thought this book was a great help with average wait times throughout the day for all the attractions and rides. It helped my husband and I decide if a 20 minute wait for a ride/attraction was worth it at that time of the day versus waiting. And in the cases that we used the book it really did help. The little notes on where to sit during the shows in Disney World and what time to get to shows was also a big help.

I used the sample itinerary that the book provided and altered it based on what my husband and I prefered to do and it was a great template.

The restaurant reviews and price averages were a great help. We ended up making reservations at Sanaa in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and loved the food.

Only thing I would have liked to see more was a little more info on the water parks and Downtown Disney, but these areas are a bit more easy to navigate through.

5 out of 5 stars WE LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This is a MUST for Disney World...   May 11, 2010
J.B. (CT)
In Disney World everyone dreads the long lines, and what turned me on to purchasing this book was the break down of wait times for each ride. It discussed the busiest times of the day for each ride (including a comprehensive chart with the average wait time based on what time of the day it was). We planned our day by doing the busiest rides first, and getting fastpasses for the most popular rides. Keep in mind the most popular ride in Disney right now is the Toy Story ride in Hollywood studios. The fastpass during a slow season was gone for the entire day in the first opening hour. FOLLOW THIS BOOKS RECOMMENDATIONS! It breaks down each park and how you should plan your day. We followed their suggested plan pretty close (avoiding the little kid rides because we were all older), and got on all the rides we wanted and multiple times. Don't forget, fastpass is key to enjoying Disney World. This book tells you which fastpasses to get (some rides aren't worth a fastpass, as the wait times are pretty low usually, which the book will show you). This book had good advice on the restaurants too. We would find places with the food we wanted in the book, follow the maps and go to them. We went to many places and got reservations WELL IN ADVAN
