 Great for odd shaped yards August 4, 2010

I bought this sprinkler because I'm too cheap to pay for a $4000 in ground system to water my rather odd-shaped front yard. My yard is sort of "L" shaped with the horizontal part of the L rather narrow and the vertical part rather wide. I place the sprinkler at the inside corner of the L and am just about able to reach all parts of my yard...without watering the neighbor's or the street - exactly what I was looking for...I'm very pleased with it.

I have this sprinkler hooked up to a timer and am so far happy with it. I like how you can adjust the distance, but am not completely content with the overall performance. It seems to make the outline of a circle in my yard rather than watering the middle of the circle. I am trying to figure out how to resolve this, but otherwise am very happy with the product.
This is our second pattern sprinkler, and we like it OK April 17, 2010

We had a previous Gilmour pattern sprinkler for years and loved it. When it finally began to show too much wear in the Texas sun, we bought this larger one. Although getting the most benefit from this sprinkler takes some trial and error, it does do a good job of covering an odd-shaped lawn. And if you're careful putting it away and use it in the same place each time, you don't have to fiddle with it much, although changes in wind and water pressure may require you to adjust it some.

Large pulse type sprinkler. Throws a large/heavy stream of water which some plants might suffer because of. Doesn't cover as large an area as I would have thought. Downside: unless it's perfectly level(sure on a lawn??) it will get stuck in one position and create a lake.

I love this sprinkler! I now have purchased three of these sprinklers. I was leary at first, but after using the first one I had to buy more. I can now water my pastures, backyard and garden all at once. It is amazing how easy it is to set and have it water 'around' things you may not want watered. I expect this to last me a long time!
