Hmmm.... I guess it is hard to review a product that gets the task done, but .... I used it once and I returned it. It did the trimming job, and I have to admit it - trimming was fine. However, I ordered this item along with the extension cord, and the cord kept falling off. Either the cord is not designed to plug into a gadget properly or the gadget connection is not designed to fit the standard cord plug.... That is not the point of this review. What scared me the most is that this tool is like a chain saw - it doesn't care what to saw in pieces. The cord kept falling out, I kept plugging it back in and go about my trimming task, but I noticed that the trigger keeps jamming. So the cord falls off, the trimmer stops working, I have to take my fingers off the trigger in order to plug the cord back in. As soon as I plug it back in, it starts operating. Does not matter whether I push the on button or not! You tell me if that is safe! That thing can easily saw you hand off! As soon as I realized that, it was back in the box being shipped back. However I gave it 2 stars because everything else operates beautifully.

I don't like to babble so here is what I think...
Good
- low vibration
- dual action makes for fast and efficient cutting (like butter, no kidding)
- very sturdy design
- feels like and proves itself to be a quality product (I've abused it pretty hard, I have even tested it cutting through 1.5 inch branches, it took about 5 minutes because it is only make to cut through 3/4 inch but even with the overload it didn't slow the machine down)
- not that heavy (after about 3 hours my arms felt like rubber but hey, who's arms wouldn't after working out with an 8lb weight for that long??)
Things for improvement
- the power cord kept coming out (this could be due to my extension cord but I think not)
Bottom line, I am amazed at how well this works. I am not a big fan of the Black and Decker brand but I was pleasantly surprised with this little gem.

trimmer is very light, cuts thru limbs up to 1/2 inch very easily and it wide swath makes fast work of the task at hand. i liked the safety guard and extension cord connection and holder. great product for the money from amazon and fast free shipping.

Works very well. I have cut bushes and branches up to a half inch, no problem. Its light for its size and easy to operate. I'm still getting used to staying aware of where the cord is but this is my first electric trimmer. I love it, its as easy as combing your hair.
Free shipping was fast and it works even better than I hoped

Powerful hedge trimmer that easily handles 1/4" & 1/2" branches. My shrubs are 25+ years old and have some very thick branches. This trimmer is lightweight, easy to use and the 22" reach is helpful for large plants.
